Just stumbled across the recording of me scraping all of my guitar strings while adding headphones from my amp (with distortion) to my phone when i recorded the sound and i decided to share this with you.

So when i launched audacity within gentoo linux, a strange ground loop occurred. However, adjusting the volume settings within alsamixer caused the ground loop to become different per volume settings. The higher the volume, the less noise is produced; the lower the volume, the more noise is produced. I hereby proclaim this into the public domain, no restrictions! have fun, y'all!.

This is about 2 minutes total. It is of an approaching long freight train passing about 100 yards away in it's entirety. Train was doing around 45 mph. There are no other background sounds, no traffic, no crossing alarms, no street noise, no airplanes, no people, etc. There are three diesel electric locomotives in the front, then about a mile of freight cars, then one diesel electric locomotive "pushing" from the rear (it almost sounds like a jet engine!). A simple sine-generator piped through a slew of wacky effects automated with randomized lfos. I added some cabinet emulation to give it a 'living room' feel but left it dry enough to add additional stereo/reverb processing. P. S. It loops cleanly. Software: bitwig studio.
